What file was specified that it could not find? What to do? I hope this helps. I have a model and though it appears on their support page, they insist there is no Vista support, so I am unable to follow davcall 's procedure. Davcal's link points to an executable "exe" file whereas yours points to the Visioneer website not an executable , so please forgive my confusion, but thanks for your support. If you can't read and understand the clear instructions Rich provided, attempting to install these drivers may be a bit much.

So I tried upgrading the driver with what I used before, but it failed, saying "The hash for the file is not present in the specified catalog file. The file is likely corrupt or the victim of tampering. The catalog file. CAT for a given driver absolutely needs to be signed in Win8, which explains the above issue.
There are two options: 1 Obtain a code-signing certificate from a 3rd-party and then use inf2cat to make a new. CAT and signtool to sign it with that certificate, or 2 Enable test-signing mode on your machine and then sign the new. CAT with a certificate that you generate yourself additional tools required: makecrt and certmgr. Either method is pretty tedious, and in most cases, the first method isn't free.

I went to the scanner and fax program in Vista and now I have a working Visioneer Scanner. I remember installing this scanner in XP sometimes it turned into a driver nightmare and Other times the install went smoothly.
